A Guy's Perspective
Commentary made by a Guy (size 40): "How am I suppose to get this thing on? This bra feels way too small like a teeny, tiny training bra. The straps feel tight on my neck. I would definitely go up a size." (note: unfortunately XL is the biggest size)
Support Score: 7 out of 10. This bra offered good support.
Comfort Score: 6 out of 10. This bra was too small and the straps felt tight on the neck.
Smoothness Score: 8 out of 10. It was very smooth and looked good underneath the shirt.
Easiness to Put on: 3 out of 10. This was the first sports bra our model tried on. It was difficult to get on and harder to get off, however, he was able to do both by himself. (There was one bra he couldn't get off by himself)
When I took the sports bra out of the package I was like, "woah, there's no way a guy is going to get this on, it looks teeny!!", but he got it on by himself. It was even harder to get it off, but he was able to do so.
It's a well made bra. It does have support and it's super discreet. The straps looked uncomfortable. They were too thin and appeared to cut into his shoulders.
If you're interested in this bra I think it could work for you IF your band size is smaller than 38 inches. I cheated a little bit on the model. He's a 40, so technically a XL was going to be small on him any ways, but the bra looked great in every other way including the price, so I ordered the XL on the chance it would fit. It didn't.
Who this sports bra would work for: Any guy with a smaller frame, or perhaps a smaller adolescent male, unfortunately these usually aren't the type of guys who need bras.
Avoid this bra if you recently had shoulder surgery or have limited arm movements. It will be almost impossible to get on or off.
Female model wearing size S and male model wearing size XL.
What if you need a sports bra larger than a XL?
I've gotten a lot of great response from guys regarding my sports bra pages. However, the number 1 question I get is, "I need a BIGGER sports bra than size XL, are there any sports bras out there for for guys that are XXL-4X?"
I've done a little research, and there are a few options to try.... (please excuse the female model, I haven't been able to take my own photographs)
Another one you should check out is the BestForm Cross Trainer Back Support Plus Size Sports Bra (or BCTBSPSSB for short -lol). It comes in sizes 42-48. You'll find your size by measuring your band size (around your ribcage underneath your bust)
If you measure 42-48 in your band size, this is a great option to check out. The downside is it's only available in white, so if you're looking for black or grey you're out of luck for the time being. (I would still try the white though)
It's available on herroom.com for $16
The Big Attitude 9555 Sports Bra - This isn't going to be a super supportive sports bra, but it will provide you with some support and protection against nipple chaffing. It comes in sizes XL-6X
The sizing chart on Amazon is garbage, but I went to Big Attitude's website and here's a chart showing what size to order...
Note: This is asking for your Bust Measurement, which is the measurement around your nipple line, (not your band size which goes around your ribcage)
I've read a few reviews that state it runs small, so that's something to keep in mind.
It's available on Amazon for $28-36
