Are Breast Reduction Pills for Real?

Someone please tell me the truth about breast reduction pills!

Okay. People. I get it. There are lots of us who sometimes wish for smaller breasts. Been there, done that, bought the t-shirt... an XL t-shirt ;)  This site is all about loving ourselves no matter what shape we are, so it might seem hypocritical for me to be talking about breast reduction pills, but here's the deal. I know a lot of my busty sisters are considering these pills and I feel some sense of responsibility to research and inform my visitors so they can make wise decisions.

It sounds so simple. "Can you imagine waking up tomorrow with smaller, and firmer breasts?" That quote was taken from a prominent breast reduction pill company. I won't name names.

Many women can't afford breast reductions, are scared to go under the knife, or prefer a natural solution, so popping a pill seems like a great solution. I mean, $60 for pills compared with $8000 for surgery , No contest right?

But 60 bucks is still 60 bucks. And I'm not much of a gambler, so the thought of taking a chance that booby shrinking pills MIGHT work isn't enough to get me to click the "buy" button. (I might add that 60 bucks is only for one bottle, it's recommend you buy 5 or 6!) Before I spend my money I need information.

What are the ingredients in Breast Reduction Pills?

I looked at several different brands and all I could find was the phrase, "100% All Natural". Which means that the pills are mostly likely made with herbs. I also found mention of caffeine. I guess caffeine is considered 'natural'.

Here are some of the ingredients that I found in breast reduction pills (specifically the brand that rhymes with "Plexia" ;). I'm going to list the ingredient and then tell you what each 'herb' is suppose to accomplish.

(Sounds like something from Harry Potter, but it's a real thing)

Guggulsterones is made from tree sap mostly found in the middle east. It claims to improve thyroid function and reduce cholesterol.  It is not recommended for long term use. Improved thyroid function can result in fat loss, breasts are made up of fatty tissue therefore logic says that this should reduce breast size.  Guggulsterones is also believed to have an antibacterial property that may help reduce acne. (So that's good news, you can have smaller breasts and clearer skin ;)

My Thoughts on Guggulsterones: If this truly improves thyroid function then technically this should reduce fat and thereby shrink your bust. However, I would be very wary to take anything that could mess with your thyroid. It's a delicate balance. Use caution and don't take it longterm.

Theobromine Cacao

Theobromine Cacao: Every woman should recognize this herb. Yep, otherwise known as a Cocoa Tree. Basically the building block for chocolate. Not sure why it's an ingredient in a these pills other than the fact that it's an antioxidant and it can lower cholesterol.

My Thoughts on Cacao: I have no problem with Theobromine Cacao as a supplement. It seems to be pretty safe. However, some people can have allergic reactions so they should ask their doctor.

Green Tea Extract

Green Tea Extract: This stuff has been all over the news lately. It's basically caffeine. The studies are questionable when it comes to weight loss. It has been documented as effective when it comes to genital warts though. So there's that. :|

It's considered safe.

My Thoughts on Green Tea Extract: There's no problem in taking this is small doses that would be found in breast reduction pills.

(3, 17-dihydro-delta-5-etiocholone-7-one)

Sclareolides: A chemical compound derived from plants (so I guess you can still claim this is natural). Usually this compound is used as a fragrance in cosmetics, but recently been studied for it's weight loss properties, though there is no clinical evidence to support this effect.

Chromium Picolinate

Chromium Picolinate: This is considered a mineral. I'm guessing it's included in reduction pills because it claims to help aid in weight loss and balancing insulin.

My Thoughts on Chromium Picolinate: I read a couple things about this ingredient to give me pause. Two reputable studies have shown that it can trigger mutations in DNA as a result of reactions with other elements found in the body and possibly led to cancer., but these studies are being refuted. I guess the jury is still out when debating the usefulness of this supplement.

Other Ingredients: Gelatin, Cellulose, Vegetable Stearate, Titanium Dioxide, FD&C Red # 40, FD&C Blue #1.

This little pill will shrink my boobs?

Do Breast Reduction Pills Work?

That's the 10 million dollar question! Here's what I've discovered. Breast Reduction Pills are basically hyped up weight loss pills. How do I know this? Because I did some research. I discovered that the ingredients in breast reduction pills contain some of the same ingredients in fat burning pills.

If you lose weight you'll reduce your breast size! It's basically a fantastic marketing ploy. Technically these companies are not lying about their products. Breasts are made up of fatty tissue, if you lose fat = your boobs will shrink. BUT Remember! You're going to lose fat all over your body, not necessarily just on your boobs. So the difference will probably not be to noticeable.

Do I recommend Breast Reduction Pills?

I cannot, in good conscience, recommend breast reduction pills. I think their claims are outrageous. My favorite line was, "With smaller and lighter breasts you'll feel like you're walking on air." Oh PLEEEEASE!

Here's my advice.....

If you're looking for a pill to reduce your breast size find a "good" fat burning pill. They are much, much cheaper and probably work better. Here are some to get you started. (Yes I'm shamelessly pushing an affiliate on you, but hey! If you're going to buy some anyways why not share the love! ;)
